About this display

Follow the Star brings the Nativity story to life with light, music and projections by Illuminos. See displays on the Bishop’s Palace and the Cathedral’s West Front, plus new projections inside the Cathedral for 2026. Enjoy local choirs, the Christmas Tree Festival and Crib, with the gift shop and SALT café open for seasonal drinks and snacks.

Runs 15–21 December 2026, with timed entry from 5:15pm. Allow around one hour. Advance booking is recommended. Adults £12–£15; children aged 2–16 £8.50–£11; family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) £36–£47. Under-2s are free but still need a ticket.

Entry and exit are via Dam Street. The route is accessible to wheelchairs, pushchairs and mobility scooters, with ramped Cathedral access. There is no on-site parking or drop-off; use city-centre car parks. Assistance dogs only. The show includes loud music, moving and flashing images, and dimly lit areas.
